The Blog

What is this rubbish?

A collection of stupid observations – and stupider anecdotes – mostly about my love life.
Complete with messages to my future self, hoping that I can record some kind of learning experience for later use.

But why?

I’ve always wanted to write a blog and since my breakup with Lord Voldemort, I have a lot of spare time to share some dating / slutty / relationship experiences and perspectives, successes and failures with you; a not-so-lucky wordpress audience.

Relationships. How original. I bet your mother is proud.

I get it, there’s a lot of this around. Another 20 something writing about relationships.
I don’t care.
I chose to focus on my (woeful) love life because I think in your 20’s, finding a relationship – or not finding one – and experimenting with dating, teaches you a lot about who you are and what you want in life.
I don’t think a relationship defines a person, but I do believe that the attempt to find love and happiness helps you find your best self. There is a lot to be learned and a lot to be gained in trying to find someone who likes you for the nerdy, uncoordinated, emotional, endearing creature that you are.
Also, lets be honest and point out that I think the pursuit of relationships is just generally hilarious to write about – and hopefully to read about – because as a species, humans are not inclined to take the sound advice they would provide to a friend in the same situation, and the repercussions are hilarious.

So have a read, have a laugh or grimace in vicarious shame – either way, I would love for you to have a look at my ridiculous life, comment on it and laugh with me (or at me, I could understand either way.)
